Village Hall Rebuild Begins23rd of April, 2020
The Village Hall was built way back in the 1950's and was always intended to be a temporary structure. By 2020 the hall is now expensive to maintain, leaking through the roof and looks shabby. The intention of the Trustees was always to build a new hall that could be used as a community facility with meeting rooms where community groups could meet and pursue their activities. After many years looking for funding they have been able to secure sufficient funds to begin building. The parish Council has actively supported the Trustees in supporting the village hall project financially because of the wider benefits that a facility like this can bring to the village. The 'sod cutting' ceremony was held on Thursday 27th February 2020 at the Village |Hall which marked the beginning of the project.
The plan is to build a brand new hall over the course of the next six months. One very welcome by-product of the whole project has been that the Scouts have had the benefit of a brand new Scout hut which was all part of the deal to raise funds for the Village Hall from land sales.
